America ceased to be free when it replaced Democracy, responsibility and true freedom with security and then exported it to countries like Pakistan under the guise of Democracy thus beginning the slow descent to a plutocracy and total loss of freedom. Bhutto’s assassination is dramatic evidence of this : Allen L Roland
Make no mistake about it, Pakistan is far more valuable to the Cheney/Bush administration as a non democratic state under the dictatorship of Musharraf than a democratic state under the possible rule of the recently assassinated Benazir Bhutto.
And don’t rule out the role of the CIA in Bhutto’s death two months before her death, former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto sent an e-mail to her U.S. adviser and longtime friend, saying that if she were killed, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf would bear some of the blame. http://snipurl.com/1vy7r
And Musharraf never faced a serious demand from the Bush administration to protect Bhutto. http://www.middle-east-online-com/english/?id=23712
Nothing will stand in the way of the implementation of the Cheney/Bush neocon global agenda and certainly not a democratic and free Pakistan for the greatest enemy of the Cheney/Bush administration is the people’s will and the truth.
Look for the Cheney/Bush administration to soon move troops into Pakistan to protect their Nukes under the guise of the War on Terror while the Musharraf government blames Bhutto’s death on Al-Qaida.
Sir Edward Gibbon sums up the consequences for a nation when they substitute security for responsibility. In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all ~ security, comfort, and freedom. When … the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free.” — Sir Edward Gibbon (1737-1794)

Greetings,
Hello I hope you are well.
With as much gentleness and compassion let me direct my comments to you. The indoctrination that almost all Americans citizens go through is showing in your blog.
We could never claim any moral high ground as a nation. Our nation began with betrayal when the Pilgrims massacred the natives on the second thanksgiving. (Schools only talk about the first friendly thanksgiving.) We lied, cheated and murdered to get all the natives lands. This was nothing less than genocide(Manifestdestiny)
We exploited the peoples of Africa in a brutal slavery. (These people were raped, beaten, humiliated. Children were taken from parents not even being allowed to say goodbye.) New immagrants came and the “freed” blacks came to work hard and torturous hours. We fought wars with foreign powers to steal lands already stolen.
So if you ever think we were a God fearing moral nation you are so wrong. We thus continue the tradition of oppression. You can call it colonialism or the war on terror they are both euphanisms for the word “exploitation”. Yet there are those among us who want to do the right thing.
God is going to act. The New World Order has been raised up just to let it crash down. Anything not built on the principles of Love as exemplified by Jesus is built on sand and will fall.
If you want America to do the right thing then I suggest you start to look right here in your backyard. There is plenty of oppression going on where ever you live.
Make a stand for universal health care, the end of the illegal drug trade, equal and civil rights, better education, reperations for the former slaves and the indigenous peoples, the abolishment in cointellpro, preservation of our ecology, living wages for all workers. Fight to hold large coroporations accountable for their actions as well and make sure these coroporations are doing their best to benefit people. And while were at it why don’t we treat our returning vets better with psychological counceling for every single soldier that returns. (That would diminish the amount of our homeles.)
You see when you get caught up on what’s going on over there you loose sight of what’s going on over here. The headlines scream “Bhutto’s Assination”. Yes that was a tragedy. It is all lost in an amibuous “War on Terror”. The “War on Terror” is an endless thing, with no clear goals to achieve victory with a boogie man under every bed and an atomic bomb in every suit case. It cannot ever be won except through Christian love.
Yet you look at what’s going on here domestically there is so much we can achieve. Heath care for all children is an excellent way to start. Psychological counseling for all returning soldiers. (After all they are America’s finest don’t they deserve the best.) The End of the Burau of Indian affairs. And so forth.
You see if we concentrate on domestic issues we can achieve substantial gains and real victories one at a time. We can gain momentum and feel we are actually changing the world. For example my friends and I were estatic when New Jersey ended the Death Penalty. Why? A couple weeks later a man in Texas was released after twenty six years in prison after DNA proved he was innocent. I’m sure glad Texas didn’t fry that guy.
I’m not saying ignore foreign affairs. I’m saying act locally and think globally. Our mobilization and organization in achieving these smaller victories will help us achieve the big ones.
Love,
John
