I was surprised, but not shocked, to recently read of the extensive marijuana fields U.S. officials had found in the Sequoia National Forest in California, worth perhaps $1 billion on the street. Wow, right under our noses, eh?
What is really surprising is that according to this report complied by the National Drug Intelligence Center in 2006, the Sequoia National Forest is a well known planting and harvesting area along with 8 other California forests.
So this recent pot seizure is just a media ploy as these seizures have been ongoing for many years now and this particular one in the Sequoia is not new news.
So why should we care? I’d rather see them destroy meth labs than burn up pot plants but that’s just my personal opinion. And Harry Pothead agrees…
