I hope you never catch this virus. I’ve had it for four weeks now and I’m headed into week five. Just woke up one day, got out of bed and bam! hit the wall and I’ve had it ever since. It’s slowly getting better, slowly. So I just look forward to waking up one day and finding it, maybe, gone.

Did you guys ever got rid of the labyrinthitis?
Yes but it took a long time.
Unfortunately, for me at least, my labyrinthitis has never gone away. I had to seek specialists who determined, through tests, that the crystal in my ear had become dislodged. I’ve never understood how this could happen when there wasn’t any trauma event of any kind but it is what it is… I still get dizzy and off-balance especially when the weather changes and the pollen count is high and my migraine headaches have started to return. It has affected my life in ways that I never thought possible.
Supposedly I am not alone in this problem and many people suffer from it. I have talked to others since contracting it and some have been living with its affects for years.
The antibiotics you spoke about will not help unless you truly have a bacterial sinus infection. I hope, and will pray, that you are not as unfortunate as I and the many others and that your symptoms will dissipate after some weeks and go away. I keep hoping that mine will and hope has not been enough…
Perhaps we should start an online support group of labyrinthitis sufferers. It is a strange malady and can be difficult to deal with as others just do not understand how debilitating it can be to one’s life.
I’m going into week 4 with Labyrinthitis also and was wondering how long you had the symptoms? I thought I was improving the past couple of days but today I’ve had a setback. I called my doctor and we’re going to try a course of antibiotics just in case I have a sinus infection also. It is a frustratng illness and I’m searching online for others’ opinions.
